The Money are a four piece rock n’ roll band from Brisbane, Australia. They formed in 1998 and released their limited edition debut 7” four track single “Pumping Yabbies with The Money” in 1999.
After a hiatus, The Money reformed in 2003 with a new drummer and rhythm guitarist. In 2004, due to punter demand, they re-released their debut single, re-packaged as “Cashing Cheques with The Money” through Wild Eagle Records. Their sound has been described as seventies punk rock a la The Heartbreakers/Dead Boys with tips of the hat to bands like The Devil Dogs as well as a smattering of Stones honky scronk!
The Money have just released their debut eight track live CD “It’s a Shit Business” through Wild Eagle Records which is now available through the Mere Noise Records website. It showcases their solid live performances and is a ‘warts n’ all’ representation of The Money’s sound.
