| THE DANGERMEN |
![]() A four piece Rock n Roll band from Brisbane, Australia, The Dangermen formed in August 2001 and in their five years together have played over one hundred and fifty live shows up and down the East Coast of Oz. In 2002 they released a 7 inch single through Brisbane's Wild Eagle Records containing the seminal tracks Gotta Be and Mechanical Girl. The Dangermen have also had tracks included on Turkeyneck Records' Drunks, Guns and Livestock in the Streets Vol 2 compilation, an Off The Hip Magazine CD sampler, a PBS FM compilation of live to air performances, and most recently on a CD Sampler accompanying Carbon 14 magazine entitled Monsters of Australian Rock, also featuring tracks by Radio Birdman, the Drones and the Busymen. In 2004 The Dangermen released their debut 12 track CD "Summer of Danger" on Wild Eagle Records to positive reviews comparing The Dangermen to bands such as Radio Birdman, the Saints, the Stooges and the Lazy Cowgirls. Tracks from the album received airplay on independent / underground radio stations in Australia as well as the U.S.A. and Europe. Their live shows are frenetic, often teetering on the edge of total destruction, but The Dangermen have an uncanny knack of harnessing the maelstrom to deliver a brutal onslaught of sonic Rock n Roll! New album The Dark Place (released early November 2006 on Brisbane label MereNoise Records) is tougher, tighter, more varied and sonically richer than its predecessor. Sporting songs influenced by bands such as Bored!, the Sunnyboys, the Who, Turbonegro and the Rolling Stones it is not unlike a glorious night out on the tiles that you never want to end, full of adrenalin fuelled thrills and spills. An album that is much more than the sum of its parts, it is one the band members are very proud of. |
